Georgian President addresses Nuclear security Summit in Washington

15 April 2010 [11:07] - TODAY.AZ
Georgian President addressed the Nuclear Security Summit in Washington on April 14.
President said the government has broken a uranium smuggling ring, underlining the threat of a stolen bomb.

Saakashvili told fellow leaders at the Nuclear Security Summit that his government has thwarted an attempt to sell highly enriched uranium on the black market last month; however, the president added that there still were some areas in the country, where the international monitoring was not accepted by the occupant party.

Everybody agreed that only by collective responsibility the protection of the future generations from the global threat was possible.
