Turkish PM waits for Armenia's reply

07 April 2010 [18:17] - TODAY.AZ
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan during a meeting with the head of the French Senate Gerard Larcher in Paris said, that he is waiting for a response from the Armenian side to his message sent to Yerevan via the Special Representative of the Turkish government Firudin Sinirlioglu.

"I'm waiting for a response from Armenia at the meeting to be held in the United States. My special envoy Sinirlioglu conveyed my message to the President of Armenia. Our meeting with President Sargsyan in the United States depends on their response," Erdogan said on Wednesday.

Sinirlioglu arrived in Yerevan on Wednesday morning.

No details of Erdogan's message were reported. But it is assumed that it deals with possible meeting of the Turkish Prime Minister with his Armenian counterpart Serzh Sargsyan in Washington. Erdogan's visit to the United States will be held April 12-13 and will take place within the participation in a summit on nuclear safety, which will begin in Washington next week with participation of 47 countries.
