The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will allocate Georgia a loan to the amount of 100 million euros for the construction of a bypass railway in Tbilisi. The agreement was signed in the Georgian Ministry of Finance on April 6.
About 290 million euros were envisaged for the construction of a bypass railway in a final corrected project.
A 30-kilometer railway track to bypass Tbilisi, as well as bridges and tunnels are planned to be built within the project.
Construction work should be completed in 2013.
