Rector of Turkey's Erzincan University commits suicide

Erzincan University Rector Erdoğan Büyükkasap committed suicide.
The university’s premises had been searched a week earlier in connection with a corruption investigation involving a tender and the Public Works Ministry.

A link between the investigation and the suicide had not been established.

Büyükkasap was born in Tosya in 1962 and graduated from Atatürk University in 1983. He had been president of Erzincan University since 2007.
