OSCE PA may adopt special resolution on Georgia's break-away regions

OSCE Parliamentary Assembly may adopt special resolution on break-away territories of Georgia.
The assembly is planned to be held in Oslo in summer.

As Vice Speaker of parliament of Georgia Gigi Tsereteli told journalists after a meeting with President of the parliamentary assembly of the OSCE Joao Soares, Georgian side will present important resolution to the OSCE Parliamentary assembly sitting in Oslo.

Situation in the break-away regions, return of refugees, mechanisms of forcing Russia to live up to its commitments and issues of resuming OSCE mandate were also discussed at the meeting on March 9.

Gigi Tsereteli noted that OSCE Parliamentary Assembly must be involved in conflict regulation process as much as possible to hasten the process.

OSCE representatives reiterated readiness to monitor local self-governance elections in Georgia.

President of the parliamentary assembly of the OSCE Joao Soares arrived for a two-day visit in Georgia on March 9.

Joao Soares will leave Georgia for Armenia on 10 March.
