Turkish parliament enacted a bill shortening referendum period to 60 days from 120 days.
The bill envisages holding a referendum on constitutional amendments 60 days after they were ratified. Earlier, 120 days had to pass after ratification of constitutional amendments to hold a referendum.
Under the bill, Turkish citizens living abroad will be able to vote for referendum in 20 days. Earlier, Turkish citizens could vote for 40 days.
