Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Friday that his government aimed to deliver Turkey to the club of most developed 10 countries in the world by 2023, for the 100th anniversary of the republic.
In his address to the nation aired on Friday, Erdogan said they dreamed of a prosperous and democratic Turkey.

"We are eyeing a country (Turkey) that has built its infrastructure, progressed in science and technology to the highest levels, embraced true democracy and freed itself of oligarchic guardianship," said Erdogan.

He said Turkey emerged as one of the most dynamic countries in the face of the global financial crisis with its economy and commerce, adding that the country was going through a major transformation in various fields from medical services to education, from justice to security, agriculture to industry.

He said with the progress made under the Justice and Development (AK) Party rule, Turkey secured a place among the shining starts of the 21st century.

"This is not just our opinion, but it is shared by the global community and respected international authorities making projections on growth and development," said Erdogan.

He said a country like Turkey which is fully integrated with the world with its economy, foreign policy and social life would never fall back in its democratic standards.
