Two former generals arrested in Turkey under coup plot probe

An Istanbul court on Friday arrested former 1st Army commander retired Gen. Cetin Dogan and retired Lieutenant General Engin Alan under the probe regarding "Balyoz Plan" allegations.
Police detained Cetin and Alan on Monday within the scope of the investigation.

Earlier, news reports had said the coup plot allegedly drafted in 2003 sought to incite chaos to force a military takeover. The plot has reportedly included bombing of mosques and shooting down of Turkey's own jets.
