Turkish State Minister and Chief Negotiator for EU talks Egemen Bagis thanked Estonia for its assistance to Turkey's EU accession talks.
Bagis and Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Paet held a press conference in Tallinn after a luncheon hosted by Paet in Bagis's honor.
Paet said Turkey was a very important country in regard to energy security of Europe, noting that EU should open energy chapter to negotiations as soon as possible.
Paet said most of Estonian people supported Turkey's EU membership.
In his part, Bagis said he would like to thank Estonia for its support.
"I will suggest that Turkish Airlines (THY) should launch direct flights to Tallinn when I return to Turkey," he said.
Estonia's president would visit Turkey in April and this visit would boost ties between Turkey and Estonia, Bagis said.
