A Turkish petty officer was charged with insulting the prime minister Thursday after he confessed to using a call and sign that referred to the leader as "vulgar".
According to the report, the naval officer stationed at Erdek Naval Command used the word "vulgar to call soldiers, who would then respond with "prime minister."
The officer's house in Gölçük was searched, and the Gölcük Fleet Command confiscated discs and documents.
He was charged and jailed Thursday morning.
