Kutaisi's Court made a verdict to dismantle 'Memorial of glory'. Gruzvzrivprom technical director Avtandil Darsavelidze was imprisoned for 4 years for failure to ensure safety measures while exploding the memorial, the court stated.
Memorial in Kutaisi was dismantled on December 19, 2009. As a result of the explosion a mother and a child died.
The head of Kutaisi's area of the company Elguja Gadabadze was sentenced to 3 and a half years. The head of Tbilisi's area Tengiz Darakhvelidze was sentenced for 2 years. Each of them will pay a fine worth 5,000 lari ($ 1 = 1.72 lari).
Accused people were found guilty of violating safety regulations in mining, construction or other type of work that has caused a human death or other serious consequences. The judge was Levan Tevzadze.
