Georgian PM sees no threat in opening Northern customs with Russia

Georgian Prime Minister sees no threat in the opening of the Upper Larsi customs, the northern exit-point with Russia.
The head of the PM`s PR Department, Niko Mchedlishvili announced at the briefing today.

Prime Minister believes that the resumption of the Upper Larsi customs operation will improve the economic and social situation in the bordering region; however, the government of Georgia does not expect serious economic profits by the opening of the customs.

PM's spokesperson said Georgia welcomed the decision of the Russian side to open the Larsi exit-point and added that Georgia would also welcome change of Moscow`s positions in other spheres too including economic embargo, visa regime, etc.

Russia plans to open Upper Larsi customs exit-point in March 1. The exit-point suspended to operate under the decision of the Russian government.
