Radioactive radiation investigated in Tehran

06 February 2010 [09:22] - TODAY.AZ
Member of the health committee of the Iranian Parliament Abduljabbar Kerimi, who is on a visit to Baku, said that the issue of radioactive radiation in Tehran is investigated, but a specific written information about the dangers of radiation has not yet been received.

"We asked the telecommunications system and the Health Ministry to submit to the parliamentary health committee the research related to this, but we have not received information yet," Kerimi told Trend News.

To prevent the broadcasting of foreign television channels in Iran, Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (Sepah) has posted several operators in Tehran. Two months ago, Iranian İLNA news agency reported that the radioactive radiation caused serious diseases and the number of appeals to hospital suffering from radiation has increased.

According to Keremi, to prevent the broadcasting of foreign television channels, operators will also be established in other cities. "Currently we do not have the facts and evidence that radiation has caused serious danger, but we are investigating it," he said.
