Turkey's higher education authority (YOK) has lifted a compulsory test for foreign students to receive higher education in universities in Turkey.
Higher Education Board's (YOK) top decision-making body said Thursday non-citizens would no longer be sought to qualify the Foreign Student Test, or YOS, for eligibility to study in Turkish universities.
YOK said it would review and evaluate candidates' scores from national as well as international aptitude tests to approve or revoke their applications.
The board will also say the final word on enrollment quotas designated for foreign students.
