Turkish police arrested 13 suspected al-Qaida members in an operation in the capital city of Ankara, officials said on Tuesday.
Turkish police arrested 13 suspected al-Qaida members in an operation in the capital city of Ankara, officials said on Tuesday.

Police received an information and raided seven houses in three different districts of Ankara which they claimed were cells of the network.

Police detained 13 people, one of whom was allegedly the head the network in Turkey, officials said.

Following operations in Ankara, police teams also launched a large-scale operation in the southern province of Adana, officials added.

Earlier in the day, Adana police said 20 people were arrested in anti al-Qaida raids.

On Monday, Turkish police had detained 11 suspected al-Qaida members in Ankara.
