An envelope, that allegedly contains eight bullets, on Tuesday has been sent to a judge and a prosecutor that probes possible assassination plot.

The Ankara 11th High Criminal Court judge Kadir Kayan and prosecutor Mustafa Bilgili are in charge of conducting the search of the "cosmic room" at the Special Forces Command in Ankara within the framework of the investigation launched following the detention of two soldiers on suspicion on a street where Deputy Premier Bulent Arinc's house is located.

Anadolu news agency said, the envelope was posted from Ankara to chief public prosecutor's office in Ankara.

The agency said Ankara anti-terror unit has launched an investigation over the "envelope with bullets".

The case erupted on Dec. 19, when police detained a colonel and a major whose car had been seen several times passing by the deputy prime minister's residence in the capital Ankara.

Despite the officers being released, Turkish media reported that they were suspected of plotting to assassinate Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc.

Turkish media said the number of the soldiers released after detained at Tactical Mobilization Group search is also "eight".

The police now question the couriers and probe who has sent the envelope.
