Georgia seeks company to realize gas storage design

Georgia will select a company to draw up underground gas storage construction plans.

The Millennium Challenge Georgia Fund and the winner of an international tender on designing underground gas storage construction plans will sign a contract worth $3.5 million.

Georgian Energy Minister Alexander Hetaguri, U.S. Ambassador John Bass and other officials will participate in the contract signing ceremony.

About seven companies have presented their bids. According to the tender terms, the contract will be implemented over 12 months.

The construction is planned for the Ninotsminda Field.
