South Korea launched a ballistic missile into the Yellow Sea in response to recent missile tests by North Korea, Azernews reports.
The launch involved a short-range ballistic missile of the Hyunmoo-2 class, conducted during a military exercise in Taean County, located 108 km west of Seoul, in the Chuncheon-Namdo Province.
The drill simulated an attack on a North Korean vessel from which the missile had been launched. The exercises were designed to demonstrate Seoul’s readiness to "respond to any provocation" by Pyongyang.
This show of force underscores growing tensions in the region, with both North and South Korea increasing their military activities in response to each other's missile tests. The continued escalation highlights the delicate balance of security concerns on the Korean Peninsula, with global powers closely monitoring the situation.
