German company to get quarter of proceeds from traffic fines in Uzbekistan

German company ATLAS International will engage in creation of a system of photo and video recording of traffic violations in four regions of Uzbekistan, Podrobno.uz reported with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan.

The project is planned to be implemented in 2018-2019 in the Andijan, Namangan, Tashkent and Fergana regions. Its total cost is 300 million euros.

The foreign company will receive 25 percent of proceeds from all fines recorded by the system until reimbursement of the investment costs.

The remaining proceeds from fines will be distributed as follows: 20 percent – to the state budget, 20 percent – to local budgets for the development of road infrastructure, 25 percent – to the extra-budgetary fund of the Ministry of Interior, 10 percent – to the Information and Public Security Center.
