The creation of toll highways and paid parking spaces is proposed in Uzbekistan, "UzDaily.uz" reported.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan has published a draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers "On additional measures to implement the Concept of ensuring road safety in the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2018-2022."

The phased creation of toll highways throughout the country as part of the public-private partnership (PPP) beginning from January 1, 2020 is proposed in the document.

The introduction of a public-private partnership (PPP) scheme for creation of a modern road infrastructure, in particular, toll highways is proposed in the document.

A prerequisite for creating a toll highway is the availability of one alternative free highway. It is noted in the document that taking into account daylight and darkness hours of day, the differentiated forms and amounts of payment have been defined for the use of toll highways.

The maximum allowable limit of the driving speed on toll highways has been increased by 20 km / h as compared to the previously defined limit.

The road sections designated for the introduction of integrated traffic monitoring systems and smart video cameras are determined by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
