Kazakhstan, France plan to deepen cooperation in space

The Minister of Defense and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan Beibut Atamkulov has held talks with the leaders of the French Airbus Defense and Space (Airbus D & S) company, Kazinform reported with reference to the press service of the ministry.

The issues of loading the spacecraft assembly and testing complex and the commercialization of space systems for remote sensing of the Earth were discussed during the talks.

Summarizing the results of the meeting, the parties assured each other of the importance of mutually beneficial strategic partnership, considered the prospects for creating space systems for various purposes, as well as the possibility of entering the foreign market with joint projects, the press service of the ministry reported.

The French Airbus Defense and Space company is a strategic partner of National Company (NC) “Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary” JSC, which is under the jurisdiction of the Aerospace Committee of the Ministry of Defense and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Kazakh and French companies have implemented a joint project to create the first Kazakh space system for remote sensing of the Earth; currently, they are nearing the completion of work for creation of spacecraft assembly and testing complex in Astana.
