Putin, Erdogan mull situation in Syria

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin spoke on the phone and discussed ways to resolve the Syrian crisis, Turkish media reported May 29.

The sides also exchanged views regarding the withdrawal of the US from the agreement with Iran on the nuclear program reached by the six international mediators (Russia, the US, the UK, China, France and Germany) in 2015.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump announced that the US is withdrawing from the agreement with Iran on the nuclear program reached by the six international mediators. He also announced the restoration of all sanctions, which were suspended as a result of the deal.
