An earthquake of magnitude 5.2 which struck a town near the Iranian capital Tehran on Wednesday night has left at least one killed and 97 injured, authorities said.
Morteza Salimi, the head of the Iranian Red Crescent Society, has said that the earthquake killed one individual in Alborz Province near the capital Tehran, Iranian media outlets reported.
Mehr and IRNA news agencies have reported that the victim was a pregnant woman.
Last month, a 7.3-magnitude earthquake hit the western province of Kermanshah killing about 600 people.
