The Senate of the Oliy Majlis (Parliament) of Uzbekistan has approved the law "On Accession of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment and the Protocol to the Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment on Matters Specific to Aircraft Equipment.

These international legal instruments were adopted in Cape Town on Nov. 16, 2001 and entered into force on March 1, 2006. To date, 73 states have joined the Convention and Protocol.

The Cape Town Convention and the aviation protocol determine the procedure and consequences of the emergence of international guarantees recognized by all states that have signed these documents for aircraft objects - aircraft, engines and other property.

Uzbekistan's accession to the above-mentioned international legal documents will allow to save the funds for the acquisition of expensive aviation equipment when upgrading the fleet of civil aircrafts in Uzbekistan, which ultimately contributes to the improvement of flight safety.
