Peugeot Citroen Uzbekistan to be launched ahead of schedule

The Uzbek-French automobile plant -Uzbekistan Peugeot Citroen Automotive - will release the first cars on December 10, 2018, four months ahead of the initial term, Uzbek media reported citing a source in Uzavtosanoat.

The launch was initially set for the first quarter of 2019.

"The plant will be produce two models - Peugeot boxer and Peugeot expert. The volume of production of the first model will be 3,000 cars a year, the second - 13,000. For the Peugeot boxer, there are 10-12 modifications, for Peugeot expert - 7, " the source said.

Based on the Peugeot boxer, it is planned to set up a minibus for 16-18 seats, ambulances and refrigerators, and Peugeot expert - a minivan for 9-12 seats, a van, a pickup truck and other modifications. The new cars will on average consume 7-8 liters per 100 kilometers.

The source noted that the plant will create 600 new jobs, and the annual production will exceed 170 million euros. At the same time, about 50 percent of production is planned to be exported to Russia and other CIS countries, as well as Iran and France.

In general, according to forecasts, the annual volume of deliveries of finished goods abroad will be approximately 55 million euros, and spare parts - 15 million euros.

The plant will be located in the Free Economic Zone Djizak. The design of the facility is carried out jointly with the experienced engineers of the French company in accordance with the standards and requirements of the Peugeot Citroen.
