Iran’s biggest carmaker sees jump in output

Iran Khodro (IKCO), the Islamic Republic’s biggest automaker company, has manufactured 320,154 passenger cars during the first half of the current fiscal year (started March 20).

The figure indicates a rise by 14 percent compared to the same period of the preceding year, the company announced.

In the meantime, the company’s sales have increased by 10 percent in the mentioned period. Iran Khodro sold 303,735 cars between March 20 and September 22.

The company’s monthly output reached 47,560 vehicle in sixth fiscal month(August 22-September22), meanwhile its revenues accounted for 12,900 billion rials(each USD makes 33,800 rials) through selling 39,668 cars in the same month.

Iran’s passenger car (including sedans and SUVs) output registered a rise by 20 percent during the first five months of the current fiscal year (March 20-August 21) to stand at 496,833 units.
According to the industry ministry, Iran Khodro accounted for 273,400 units of the total number manufactured during the five-month period, 16.8 percent more year-on-year.

Meanwhile Saipa, the second largest Iranian auto-maker manufactured 134,684 units, 21 percent up compared to the same period of the preceding year.
