Khomeini Shrine attack: Shooting still heard after suicide bombing

Security has been restored at the Imam Khomeini Mausoleum in Tehran, IRIB news agency reports.

According to an informed source, a bomber blew himself up, another one was shot dead by security forces, and eventually the law enforcement forces detained a female assailant who was earlier wounded.

Four pilgrims were wounded. A mausoleum gardener is among the victims.

13:33 (UTC +4)? Iran’s Press TV reported that shooting is still heard at the Imam Khomeini Mausoleum.

13:10 (UTC +4) ISNA news agency reports that at least 35 have been transferred to nearby hospitals following two terror attacks this morning in Tehran.

12:55 (UTC +4)? IRIB reports that another suicide bombing was carried out at the Imam Khomeini shrine.

12:28 (UTC +4) IRGC Special Forces have arrested two suspect terrorists at Imam Khomeini shrine.

12:05 (UTC +4) Iranian security forces have killed a second suicide bomber at the Imam Khomeini mausoleum, Mehr News agency reported.

11:49 (UTC +4)? Tabnak news website reported that the armed attack on the Imam Khomeini shrine has left at least one killed and four injured.

11:05 (UTC +4) Tasnim news agency reported that an attacker has been arrested at Khomeini’s tomb. The arrested attacker is a female.

YJC (Iran's Young Journalists Club) also reported that the bomber of Imam Khomeini shrine was a female.

10:47 (UTC +4) An unknown gunman has injured several people at the tomb of the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, near capital Tehran.

The incident has left several people injured, Fars news agency tweeted.

The officials have not revealed any details regarding the attack, or the casualties thus far.

In a separate incident on the same day, several attackers reportedly tried to storm the building of Iran's parliament, engaging in a shootout with the guards.

According to reports, several people got injured as a result of the attack.

According to ISNA, the attacker of the tomb has committed suicide bombing following the attack.
