Officials from Turkey’s Foreign Ministry are working for a meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Jan. 22, Hurriyet reported.

“We will discuss this issue [Middle East] in a meeting with Mr. Trump but I do not know when this meeting will be scheduled. Officials from the Foreign Ministry are working on the meeting, where we will discuss this issue,” Erdogan added.

“We are on the side of respecting the territorial integrity of the Middle East. We are not thinking about dividing up the Middle East, which would not be right and would disrespect the people of the region,” he added, speaking to reporters ahead of an official three-country trip to East Africa.
