The cleansing against the Gulen movement continues, as Turkish police arrested 65 people during a special operation in Antalya, Sabah newspaper reported.

The operation was aimed to identify the supporters of the Gulen movement. Fethullah Gulen is accused of being involved in a military coup attempt in Turkey.

During the operation, police found and seized books and documents confirming the detainees’ involvement in the Gulen movement.

Earlier, the Turkish Ministry of Justice officially requested the US for Fethullah Gulen’s arrest.

In addition, the Turkish authorities sent two requests to the US for extradition of Gulen. Prior to that, the Istanbul Court released an order for Gulen's arrest.

On July 15 evening, Turkish authorities said a military coup attempt took place in the country. Meanwhile, a group of servicemen announced about transition of power to them.

However, the rebelling servicemen started to surrender July 16 and Turkish authorities said the coup attempt failed.

Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had said the death toll as a result of the military coup attempt stood at 246 people, excluding the coup plotters, and over 2,000 people were wounded.
