Turkey’s Yildirim says Tehran, Ankara to offer ‘best solution to Syrian crisis’

Turkey and Iran will offer the best solution to the ongoing Syrian crisis, Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said.

“No country knows the regional problems better than Iran and Turkey, and the two are going to offer the best solution to the Syrian crisis,” Yildirim stated, TRT Haber reported August 16.

Turkey recently expressed willingness to work alongside Russia and Iran to fight the Syrian crisis.

In another part of his speech, Yildirim thanked Iran for expressing support for the Turkish government amid the July 15 coup attempt.

A few weeks after the coup attempt, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif visited Turkey to renew their vows of cooperation. The night before departing for Ankara, Zarif spoke with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov over the telephone.
