New head of Iran’s National Oil Company appointed

Iran's Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh appointed Ali Kardor head of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), Mehr news agency reported June 12.

Kardor, who replaced Rokneddin Javadi, was the deputy head of the NIOC.

Zanganeh also appointed Javadi deputy oil minister for supervision on hydrocarbon resources.

Earlier, certain conservative media outlets in Iran including Mehr and Fars news agencies speculated that there are serious differences between Zanganeh and Javadi, forecasting that the NIOC head will be dismissed soon.
