Blast rocks Istanbul, multiple injuries reported

An explosion occurred close to a military unit in Istanbul, the Turkish newspaper Milliyet reported May 12.

Nine people were wounded in the explosion. One of them is listed in serious condition.

Initial reports suggest that the explosion was caused by a car bomb.

Reportedly, seven of the injured are servicemen.

Fire-fighters arrived at the scene following the explosion.
