Turkey closes Dardanelles

Turkey has closed the Dardanelles for the passage of ships, the Turkish Sabah newspaper reported Dec.23.

The Dardanelles is a narrow strait in northwestern Turkey connecting the Aegean Sea to the Sea of Marmara.

The reason for closure of the strait is the dense fog observed since the morning. There was no mention on when the movement of vessels will be resumed.
