Turkmenistan’s GDP rises

The growth rate of GDP remains at high level in Turkmenistan - it stood at 7.5 percent as of Jan.-Oct. 2015, said the country’s Ministry of Economy and Development.

The country’s industry saw a 2.6 percent growth during the reporting period, construction – 11.5 percent, transport and communications – 11.8 percent, trade – 12 percent, agriculture – 11.9 percent and the sphere of services – 10.9 percent, according to the ministry.

Turkmenistan ranks fourth in the world for the volume of natural gas reserve and currently, the country is able to export it to China, Iran and Russia, according to a BP report.

The country pursues the policy of economic diversification. Such spheres as textile industry, oil products, oil and gas chemical industry actively develop in Turkmenistan.
