Turkmenistan’s Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Brazil Aksoltan Atayeva has been accredited in Brazil.

Atayeva handed over her credentials to Brazil’s President Dilma Rousseff.

During the ceremony, Rousseff said that Brazil and Turkmenistan have intensified the political relations in 2015 and expressed readiness to promote bilateral relations in the priority areas of cooperation.

Trade, economic, fuel and energy, agriculture, sports and tourism are considered as the promising areas of partnership between the two countries.

In general, Turkmenistan has intensified the cooperation with Latin American countries in recent years. The country’s President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov participated in the UN conference on sustainable development RIO+20 held in Brazil.

During that conference, Berdimuhammadov held a series of meetings with the leaders of Latin American countries.
