Armenia needs to look into its problems in depth to figure out their origin rather seeking reasons outside the country.

Tigran Atanesyan, a constitutional law expert, believes that Armenia's major problem lies inside the country. He called on the people to dismiss any idea that the Post Soviet country's shortages lie with Azerbaijan, a neighboring country in which 20 percent of its internationally recognized territory is under Armenian occupation.

"Our security is not threatened by Azerbaijan, and our internal enemy is the one who forces Armenian people emigrate from Armenia and businessmen to close their business,” he stressed.

Member of Russia’s Public Chamber and the Director of the Political Studies Institute Sergei Markov also said that Armenia faces many serious internal problems such as conflicts within the Armenian elite, and a very difficult economic situation among others.

The ailing economy is not the only problem pushing Armenia into a crisis. One of the biggest problems of this small South Caucasus country is its unwillingness to admit a high poverty ratio, low income, unemployment and emigration, and thereby refusing to find solution to such painful issues.

Armenian MP Aram Manukyan acknowledged that many of today's problems arise from the current government’s policy.

“People cannot live in Armenia anymore, a huge number of citizens flee from the country year by year and the government, in turn, does not do anything. It is not clear whether the authorities cannot or do not want to do anything to solve the problem but the conclusion can be one: the country needs a new government.”

The current situation in the county can be attributed to many factors, but emigration remains atop the focus of the media, eclipsing even Armenia’s foreign policy dilemma.

Armenia ended up in this situation by force under its aggressive external policy and unwise internal course, which makes citizens seek opportunities by immigrating to other countries. Frequent mass protests on the backdrop of a deep economic crisis increasingly undermine the authority of the Armenia’s government.

Slogans of people needing a new government are becoming more frequent.
