Although the Armenian president promised to start an investigation on the "Electric Networks of Armenia" and the Commission on regulation of public services, Prosecutor General's Office has not yet launched any investigation.

This information was highlighted by one of the active protesters, David Sanasaryan.

"If the Prosecutor General's Office will not start investigation, protesters will demand resignations of those structures and lay all the responsibility on President Serzh Sargsyan during the next meeting," Sanasaryan said.

He further said they don’t believe the auditor's report will be in favor of the people. "Serzh Sargsyan drives people into a dead end,” the activist added.

After two weeks of sedentary picket in Yerevan, police freed the Baghramyan Avenue from the demonstrators. More than 40 of the protesters have been taken to the police station; the protests continued at the Freedom Square.

Currently, the Freedom Square is full of police officers, mainly at the entrance to the square.

Deputy Chief of Yerevan Police Valery Osipyan once again urged coordinators to remain at the Liberty Square and not to hold a march.

The Commission on Regulation of Public Services in Armenia in its June 17 meeting approved a decision to increase electricity tariffs by 6.93 Armenian drams (about $0.015). As a result, starting on August 1 consumers would have been required to pay 48.78 drams instead of the current 41.85 per 1 kWh per day.
