A protest rally was held in the center of Georgia's capital city Tbilisi, on November 15.

Members of the former ruling party United National Movement organized the large gathering of thousands of people to protest against Russia's stance towards the separatist Abkhazia region.

Approximately 3,000-5,000 Georgians united to voice their disillusion with what they called the fruitless policy of the country's authorities against Russia's desire to annex Abkhazia.

"The rally aims to protest against the incumbent government, which has done nothing to resist Russian occupation," said Georgian Security Council's ex-Secretary and one of the rally organizers, Giga Borkeria.

Georgia's former President Mikheil Saakashvili delivered a speech at the rally through an audio switch from the Ukrainian capital city Kiev.

Saakashvili left Georgia in November 2013, following the incumbent President Giorgi Margvelashvili's inauguration. He was announced wanted within Georgia's territory based on accusations of the embezzlement of state funds, as well as the dispersal of massive rallies in the country. Georgian General Attorney's Office has recently raised a new accusation against Saakashvili, blaming him for beating a Member of Parliament Valery Gelashvili in July, 2005
