
Georgian president Mikheil Saakashvili who will leave his post on November 17 decided to refrain from participating in the daily political life of the country.
The president wrote this in his Facebook page.
"Yesterday I completed the last consultations with the leaders of the European Union and the European Parliament before the Vilnius summit," he said. "I also consider several proposals from leading foreign universities to establish an international research center associated with my name. At this stage, I intend to refrain from participating in Georgia's daily political life."
However, he stressed that he will support the Georgian people, when it is necessary.
"I will always be with my people at any time when I see such a need and will serve my beloved homeland - Georgia," the president said.
