Iranian FM embarks on US trip

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif will visit New York today, MEHR news agency reported today.

During the visit, the Minister will take part in the next session of the UN General Assembly. He will meet with EU's foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton and "5 +1" representatives (Russia, US, China, Great Britain, France and Germany), participating in the discussions of Iran's nuclear issue.

Iran's president Hassan Rouhani is expected to visit New York in late September, where he will take part in a meeting of the UN General Assembly.
