Iran showcases three new military achievement

Iran unveiled three military achievements today on the occasion of the National Armed Forces Day, the Fars News Agency reported.

A wireless communication system, a missile-launching system, and T-72 battle tank simulation system were the new achievements of the Iranian army.

On Thursday, two new domestically manufactured unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) named the Mohajer B and the Hazem 3 were unveiled.

The aircraft can be used to conduct surveillance, combat and tactical operations.

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said the nation should be powerful to be able to safeguard its independence and national security, adding that the country's might should be based on its own capabilities.

Iranian Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi announced Iran would unveil a new domestically manufactured fighter jet and a new cruise missile in the near future.
