Illegal immigration to be precluded in Turkey

Ankara will prevent the transit of illegal migrants, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Turkey Muammar Guler said, Turkish TRT Haber TV channel reported on Friday.

Many illegal migrants heading to Europe use Turkey as a transit country, Guler said.

"Turkey often faces inflow of illegal migrants; their levels have already reached their maximum limit," the Minister said.

According to Guler, the identification of illegal migrants is problematic because many of them dispose of their documents.

The minister also added that not only Turkey, but also other countries must fight the flow of illegal migrants.
