200 000 people migrated from Armenia during last 5 years

08 February 2013 [15:45] - TODAY.AZ
Armenia will have a new president if free, fair and transparent elections are held, presidential candidate and leader of Heritage party Raffi Hovhannisyan told journalists.

He noted that he respects all the candidates who contributed to the establishment of Armenia.
"I respect everyone including the three presidents, Paruyr Hayrikyan, Grant Bagratyan and Arman Melikyan. Truth is above all. I do not want to offend those who are accused of being responsible for migration, but over the past five years, Armenia lost 200 000 people. There should be no gloating since migration began during their stay in power. "

The sixth Armenian presidential election will be held on Feb.18 from 08:00 to 20:00 local time. The head of state is elected for five years.

Those running for the presidency are the incumbent president and ruling Republican Party leader Serzh Sargsyan, former Prime Minister Grant Bagratyan, chairman of the Heritage Party Raffi Hovhannisyan, Paruyr Hayrikyan, Arman Melikyan, Andrias Ghukasyan, Vardan Setrakyan and the leader of the National Accord Party Aram Harutyunyan.
