Georgian President to deliver his last speech in front of parliament

01 February 2013 [18:57] - TODAY.AZ
Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili will deliver an annual report in front of Parliament on Feb. 8. The parliamentary PR department said that a decision was made following the consultations that he will deliver the report at 14:00.

The consultations on the format of the speech between the majority and the minority are underway. The Parliament's Bureau will make a final decision on February 5.

This will be Saakashvili's last statement in the parliament as the President. His presidential term will expire in autumn of 2013. He twice won the presidential elections, and, according to the Georgian constitution, he is not eligible to run for the highest post in the country.

It should be stressed that on February 8, Saakashvili's opponents intend to meet in front of the parliament. They believe that his five-year presidential term expired on January 20. They intend to block the entrance to Parliament and not to allow Saakashvili to enter.
