An earthquake has recently hit the town of Varzegan in the Iranian province of East Azerbaijan again, Fars agency reported today.
Tremors measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale were registered at 23:39 local time. There is no information about damage or victims.
Tremors measuring 5 on the Richter scale were registered in the cities of Varzegan and Ahar in the East Azerbaijan province on January 26. More than 10 people were injured.
An earthquake measuring 6.2 occurred in the province of East Azerbaijan on Aug. 11, 2012. As a result, 300 people were killed and 2500 were injured. Around 110 of 538 villages of the province were completely or partially destroyed. Some 5000 buildings were damaged.
