Mikheil Saakashvili does not intend to dismiss government

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili is not going to exercise his constitutional right to dismiss the government. Saakashvili himself made this statement yesterday night at a meeting with the press.

"I have no specific plans to use my constitutional right, and I have not dropped any hints on this matter. Only thing that I am saying it that if the chaos and violence continue in the country, that we have passed through in 1990, it all can bring bad results ... I do not want the events to develop on the radical scenario," Saakashvili said.

It should be noted that the relations between the president and the government in recent days have sharply deteriorated. The President is concerned over arrest of his former ministers and accuses the current government of violating the principles of co-existence of political parties. He intends to veto the bill on "Courts." In this case, the parliamentary majority promises him "appropriate actions".

Parliamentary elections were held in Georgia on Oct.1. Around 14 parties and two political blocs participated in the elections. Opposition coalition "Georgian Dream" won the elections.
