European institutions ready to help Georgia

European institutions are ready to assist Georgia in legal matters during the transition period, Foreign Ministerof Sweden Carl Bildt said at the briefing after the meeting Georgian Foreign Minister Maya Panjikidze, Bulgarian Foreign Minister, Nikolay Mladenov and Head of the Polish presidential administration Jacek Mikhailovsky.

"At yesterday's meeting we congratulated Saakashvili with success of transition period. We also talked about the aspects of foreign policy, the Euro-Atlantic orientation. We recognize the broad consensus of the population of Georgia on the issue, which further strengthens the position of Georgia in various European Councils," Bildt said.

At the same time, the foreign minister of Sweden expressed concern about the legal issues.

"The rule of law is a fundamental part of democracy, and I think the dialogue in this area should go deeper. There are various European institutions that are ready to assist Georgia in this direction," Bildt said.
