19 November 2012 [12:42] - TODAY.AZ
Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said that the Islamic Republic of Iran does not intend to interfere in Syria's domestic affairs, and added that Tehran conference on Syria is in pursuit of resolving Syrian crisis, IRNA reported.

'The main purpose for holding the national dialogue meeting in Tehran is to gather the Syrian government and opposition groups to hold talks with each other,' he said.

'As the Islamic Republic of Iran has reiterated many times before, today we once again emphasize that we seek a peaceful resolution to the Syrian crisis without interference of foreign forces,' Salehi added.

He noted that Iran respects the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Syria and it also calls for legitimate demands of that country.

'These are principles that should be taken into account in every meeting and every dialogue on Syria,' the foreign minister added.

Salehi noted that about 40 active Syrian political parties and a total of 130 personalities from Syria attend the conference on national dialogue in Syria.
