Iran calls on int'l organizations to stop Zionist regime atrocities

Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi on Thursday sent separate letters to international and regional organizations urging them to condemn atrocities of the Zionist regime against Palestinians and take necessary measures to immediately stop such atrocities, IRNA reported.

According to the Information and Press Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Salehi sent separate letters to secretary generals of the United Nations, Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the United Nations Human Rights Council and high representative of European Union for foreign policy and security affairs.

In the letters, Salehi said such savage atrocities have made people in the region and the world worry about threats of the Zionist regime and its mass killing of Palestinian people which will certainly spread instability and insecurity to the entire region.

The Iranian foreign minister called for immediate and serious action by the international organizations to stop the Zionists' aggression against people in Gaza strip, who have been under siege for several years, and prevent a humanitarian catastrophe.

Calling for an end to Gaza siege, he said the legitimate rights of the Palestinian nation can be restored through liberation of the occupied lands.

During air strike and missile attacks of the Zionist regime in the last two days some 17 Palestinians have attained martyrdom and tens of others have been injured in Gaza.
