Moscow sees no obstacles for Georgia’s return to CIS

10 November 2012 [10:57] - TODAY.AZ
Russia sees no obstacles for Georgia’s return to the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Director of the CIS countries department Mikhail Yevdokimov has said, RIA Novosti reported.

“We have been closely watching Tbilisi. Georgia stepped out of CIS on its own initiative, so now they need to submit an application to get back in the Community,” he said.

Mr. Yevdokimov confirmed that he saw no obstacles for a positive outcome should the Georgian administration apply for its CIS membership. He added the decision to let Georgia back in will be made by heads of all CIS member states.
